Counselling
You deserve a space where your emotions are honoured, your story is held with care, and your healing feels possible. If you’re noticing that parts of your life no longer feel balanced or aligned, I’m here to walk alongside you as you explore what needs to shift. Together, we can work toward greater clarity, steadiness, and connection, whether you’re navigating daily stress, relationship challenges, trauma, or something more complex.
My approach is grounded, relational, and deeply compassionate. I am committed to creating an inclusive, affirming space where people of all identities and lived experiences feel respected and supported. I live and practice on the unceded lands of the Lekwungen peoples and carry a deep appreciation for cultural diversity.
I work from a strengths‑based, person‑centred foundation, integrating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution‑Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and resiliency‑building practices. Because our emotions live in the body, I often incorporate somatic healing to help clients reconnect with their internal cues, regulate their nervous system, and gently process what feels overwhelming. My Somatic Healing Certification supports this work, allowing us to explore the body as a resource for grounding and transformation.
I also bring specialized training in First Responder Health, including an understanding of First Responder culture and trauma. This helps me support individuals working in high‑stress or trauma‑exposed environments with sensitivity and attunement.
Before entering the counselling field, I spent years teaching primary and secondary students in the public school system, as well as teaching English online to children in China. These experiences strengthened my understanding of diverse learning needs, communication styles, and the challenges young people face today.
My commitment to community care began long before my counselling career. In 2015, I founded Sunday Sandwiches YCC, a non‑profit supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and housing scarcity in Calgary. This work deepened my understanding of trauma, addictions, and the complexities of social systems, continuing to shape my belief in the power of compassion and collective support.
I bring warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person’s story. Healing is not linear, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I am honoured to support you as you move toward resilience, balance, and meaningful change.

My Journey Begins
First Responder Culture & Trauma
Horizon Counselling Studio grew from my commitment to holistic, person‑centred wellness, where compassionate care and comprehensive support come together. As a partner to a First Responder, I’ve witnessed firsthand the emotional, physical, and psychological toll this work can take. Paramedics, Fire Fighters, and Police Officers carry immense responsibility, often while navigating burdens that few outside the profession truly understand.
I hold deep empathy for the challenges you face and am dedicated to supporting you in your healing journey, helping you strengthen your resilience so you can continue showing up for the people in your life, both on and off the job. To better understand the culture, pressures, and realities of First Responder work, I completed specialized training through First Responder Health and am now registered with Wounded Warriors, ensuring my practice is informed, attuned, and grounded in the needs of this community.

Somatic Regulation
Understanding Your Nervous System
I offer a compassionate and grounded space where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself, and make sense of what’s happening in both your mind and body. Together, we explore the signals your nervous system is sending and use gentle, evidence‑informed tools to support regulation, ease anxiety, and build resilience.
This work goes beyond coping, it helps you expand your capacity to navigate life’s challenges while also deepening your ability to experience joy, connection, and meaning. As you strengthen one, the other grows alongside it.
